Questions
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to give my name or contact details to see quotes?
No. The quote tool requires six pieces of information: gender, date of birth, general health, tobacco use, the coverage amount you're interested in, and the term length. These answers are enough to retrieve carrier rates. Your name, address and detailed health information are only requested if you choose to proceed with an application.
Are the monthly prices shown the price I will pay?
The monthly rates shown are what each carrier quotes for the health class you selected. The carrier may confirm, improve or change your class during underwriting, which could affect the final premium. Everything on this site is provided for information only and is not an offer of insurance, a guarantee of price, or a promise of approval.
What happens when I click Apply?
When you choose Apply, you are taken to a secure application platform run by the carriers, which is prefilled with your answers. The application asks for details underwriting needs and lets you sign electronically. You can pause and return to your application at any time. Susman Insurance Agency, a licensed California agency (License 0B75129), handles applications.
Will I need a medical exam?
The answer depends on the carrier, the amount of coverage, and your responses to health questions. Many carriers offer accelerated underwriting programs that can approve eligible applicants without a paramedical exam; each quote on this site indicates whether an exam is required, possibly required, or not required for that product.
Is a longer term better?
A term should cover the period when your family or business would be at financial risk from your death: a mortgage, dependent children at home, a business loan. Longer terms cost more per month but fix your rate for a longer period. The quote tool lets you compare 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30-year terms from the same carrier side by side.
Does this site sell my information?
No. The quote tool does not collect your contact information; we do not sell or share visitor data; and our website measurement does not use cookies. The privacy page contains a complete accounting of what information is collected and by which parties.
